Our night sky sessions for private groups are about 60 minutes in duration. You'll enjoy an entertaining naked-eye tour of the constellations and celestial objects on display followed by telescope viewing with Q&A.
You'll learn night sky stories, celestial navigation, and be inspired by the mind-blowing scientific realties of our vast universe.
Groups are generally limited to 10 people, however if you have a 'special' event, or are a school, please feel free to enquire here to discuss your requirements (separate pricing will apply).
2 - 4 people: $199 NZD
5 - 10 people: $249 NZD
Families - 2 adults with up to 4 children (8+ years): $199 NZD
If we need to travel more than 30 minutes to your accommodation, a travel fee may apply. Please contact us to discuss.

If your question isn't answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
We need reasonably good access to carry bulky gear to a relatively flat outdoor viewing area. There should be enough space for your group to sit, stand, and move around comfortably.
A wide view of the sky is desirable (nearby tall trees could be an issue) and it's also important that the area is shielded from streetlights or other bright lights.
Please check with your host and let us know if you’re unsure.
We have access to a private residence in Taupo South, close to the airport, which should be perfect for your group.
However, please note that bathroom facilities are not available.
Families are welcome as our content can be adapted to suit all ages 8 years and up. Children must be fully supervised.
No pre-payment is required. We will invoice you after your experience.
You won’t be charged if we need to cancel your experience due to weather conditions. If the weather is uncertain during the day, it doesn’t automatically mean the event is cancelled. We can make a final “go / no-go” decision on the day.
If you require a definite decision sooner, please let us know.
Bring yourselves and sufficient warm clothing to keep comfortable for 60+ minutes. Even in summer, Taupō can turn quite chilly and particularly so if it's windy.
If you have your own pair of binoculars, bring them too!
Unfortunately, pets and delicate telescope equipment don't mix well. Pets can also be a trip hazard in dark areas. Therefore, please do not bring pets to our venue.
If we’re coming to you, please ensure that any pets are secured away from the presentation area.
